Kirkstall Abbey crocuses
Crocuses at Kirkstall Abbey

In front of us here is the ruined nave of the abbey church. There is some evidence that in the 18th century the main road from Leeds to Ilkley used to come straight through the nave of the abbey church. Fortunately it now skirts the abbey grounds.
