Starbotton, in Upper Wharfedale, is an ancient settlement, dating back to at least Domesday Book (1086), though most of the houses are now holiday homes. This photo is taken from Starbotton Cam Road, one of the many ancient packhorse tracks in this area. This track leads to Starbotton Peat Ground where the villagers used to dig peat for fuel, and then on into Coverdale.
